80/20

The 80/20 rule as applied to life, to information, is the process of learning discernment. It is the process of extracting value.

The 80/20 rule

The 80/20 rule is presented by many players, including the famous portfolio simulation and finance website Investopedia. It is also presented with computing, occupational health, engineering, and quality control, or mathematical applications on Wikipedia. It also has potential business applications, such as the observations from LogRocket that:

  • 20 percent of customers bring 80 percent of your total revenue
  • 80 percent of complaints come from 20 percent of customers
  • 20 percent of your features are used by 80 percent of your customers
  • 20 percent of marketing investments lead to 80 percent of new customers
  • 20 percent of your products drive 80 percent of your revenue.

The 80/20 rule as applied to life, to information, is the process of learning discernment. It is the process of extracting value.

The 80/20 rule, as you can apply it to your life, is this: 20% of the information you are looking at is valuable. If you make that target, that single dot of focus is enlarged to become the whole picture,

then 20% of that new focus is even more valuable information.

💡
For example: 20% of scriptures are highly valuable,

20% of the Bible is even more valuable, the book of Isaiah.

20% of Isaiah is valuable. It's Isaiah 61.

20% of Isaiah 61 is highly valuable, it's a message of awakening to humanity.
You can take that chapter down to one core sentence.

This is how you find value. This is how you find pure, language-less meaning.

You learn discernment, that is, how to appreciate value, and you reduce the rest until you have core meaning. That means that, the Bible does have an identifiable core statement to make.

I use this method to extract the core from the Methods I share.

You can apply the 80/20 rule right here on this page.

You can apply the 80/20 rule on this page right here in this section.

  • 20% of the Methods I share will be valuable to you.
  • 20% of that one most important method will be critical information for you.

Sometimes you will be looking at a bad picture. 20% of a bad image will still be bad, but you can get better at selecting good images.

If you ask, "How do I get out of the Matrix?"

This is how you get out of the Matrix.

It is easy to store any method in your permanent long term memory if you follow this Method:

  • Write it down three times,
  • then return to what you wrote down three more times.
  • Rewrite the technique in your own words in a paragraph.
  • Stick that paragraph on your wall.
